Education in the early days of motherhood rarely crossed my mind. However, as the years flew by, the reality of it was soon upon me and I had an important decision to make.
As a high academic achiever, I always thought that my children would enter mainstream education and follow the same journey I did. This was based purely on the journey I had experienced over 20 years ago and I was not taking into account the current state of modern day life.
Now there are many more challenges in mainstream education that are leading to children’s learning to suffer, so I decided to take a step out of the ‘norm’ I’ve always known to home educate my children.
We are still in the early years of doing this journey but it is something I aim to document over the time we do it.
